About Me

Dr. Ashraf Suyyagh (د. أشرف الصياغ) holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada (2019), and MSc and BSc degrees in Computer Engineering from the University of Jordan in 2011 and 2007, respectively. Dr. Suyyagh is currently an assistant professor at the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Jordan (since 2019). He has an academic teaching and research experience that spans over 12 years at the University of Jordan, McGill University, and Vanier College. He has been awarded the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education Scholarship to pursue his BSc degree, and the University of Jordan Scholarship to pursue his MSc and PhD degrees. He is also the recipient of McGill’s Graduate Excellence Fellowship for the years 2012 – 2014. Dr. Suyyagh’s main research interests include embedded and cyber-physical systems, digital systems design, embedded AI, as well as fault-tolerant, energy, and thermally-aware systems. Dr. Suyyagh also has research interests in AI and NLP. Along with his PhD Supervisor (Prof. Zeljko Zilic), Dr. Suyyagh has given numerous technical workshops on Embedded Systems Design and multi-sensor systems integration using ARM Cortex-M processors. Dr. Suyyagh has been an active IEEE member since January 2011, and Jordan Engineers Association member since 2007. He attended Franciscan Sisters School for his elementary and secondary education.
